LSU Softball will soon be adding another elite prospect to the roster when the newest crop of Freshman report to campus. One of the premier players in this class is outfielder Savanna Bedell out of Columbus, Ga. She is ranked No. 18 overall by Perfect Game.

Senior Season: 32 Games Played : .495 Batting Average, .561 On Base Percentage, 52 Hits, 10 HR, 36 RBI, and 49 Runs Scored

Career Stats : 96 Games Played : .453 Batting Average, .546 On Base Percentage, 129 Hits, 99 RBI, and 129 Runs Scored

Savanna on what led her to know LSU was the place for her "Ever since the sixth grade I have loved LSU and then 8th grade year, they’ve showed so much love for me, so I always kinda knew." Regarding where the LSU Staff sees her playing "First base & outfield. I’ll be busy for sure." We discussed some of her accomplishments she is most proud of and she commented "Division 5A Player of the Year, Region Player of the Year, PGF All-American third year in a row."

We talked about the 2023 recruiting class and she said " meeting some of my future teammates in my class has been so fun and I can’t wait to be there with them, and I have 2024 besties committed so I’m excited for that!" One of those besties is 2024 commit Zoe Calvez. She also added on the 2024 class "but I met most of the rest of the 2024's at an SEC game a few months and I gelled with them pretty nice."

Regarding her relationship with the LSU coaching staff "I really like the coaching staff, we’re not super close or anything because I don’t like to rush things, but I’ve heard so many good things. I’m just waiting to grow a real relationship with all of them." Bedell has a message for LSU fans "I want LSU fans to know that something big is coming to LSU and it’s coming fast. and to know that they’ve never seen a player like me before." Outside of softball she says she enjoys "Just being with my friends having fun, eating, I love eating, watching a movie with my brother, family time."
