Class of 2025 LSU RHP Commitment Karson Trichel on his State Championship and LSU Commitment

LSU has a commitment in the 2025 class from a dominant pitcher in Karson Trichel from Ouachita Christian School . The 6'4" -190 lbs right hander has a Perfect Game rating of 9 and that equates to a potential top 10 round pick or highest level college prospect.

Trichel had a dominant year this season where he went 8-1 on the year with 60 innings pitched with just 19 walks with a 1.50 ERA. On his teams playoff success "In the playoffs I threw 20 innings with a 0.00 ERA and 24k’s. My teammates and I were fortunate enough to win the state title." The state title is something he is most proud of , he stated "Our State title this year was pretty huge, being able to celebrate that milestone with my teammates." With more on the state title he shared an interesting fact with me about his family "The feeling of not finishing it last year was hard. We worked hard all year and knew we had a really good chance. It was awesome to finish it this year. My 2 brothers and I are the only three brothers who weren’t in the same graduating class, to all win a state championship for OCS."

Karson on his pitching arsenal "I throw both a 2 and 4seam fastball, change up and curveball. I haven’t been clocked recently but have been up near 90." This falls in line with Perfect Game on his velocity as they last had him at 89 mph which falls in the 99.60% percentile for his class." On what his strongest attribute is "I think my strongest attribute is not folding under pressure and all of the work i put in to be the best for my teammates and coaches, because they deserve my best and so do I."

On what schools the talented righty chose LSU over "Mississippi state, La Tech and some other schools." What made him know LSU was right for him "The coaches at LSU have just been amazing to me. When I went to camps it just felt like it was the right place. Plus they are the best coaches in college baseball." Karson on what it means to him as a Louisiana kid to get to represent Louisiana in college " It is a dream come true to be a BOOT kid being able to stay here and play in front of the fans that LSU has. Just amazing." On some other commits he has bonded with "I have bonded with Bradyn Garnet, John Pearson, Jack Ruckert, Devyn Downs, and more." When he is not practicing or playing he says he is either in the woods hunting or spending time with friends and family.
