No.1 Player in Louisiana Class of 2025 Cornerback Jaboree Antoine out of Westgate

Updated: May 28, 2023

Louisiana has always been home to some elite athletes and Jaboree Antoine out of Westgate High School in New Iberia for the 2025 class is no exception to that. 247 Sports has him with rating of a high 4 star and an overall National ranking of No.46, Cornerback No.6 and Louisiana No.1 . In my opinion this is way too low for him. I Expect him to be a Top 10-15 overall player by the end of this upcoming season.

At 6'2"-* 180 lbs Antoine is an elite playmaker on both sides of the ball. His Sophomore season saw him record 32 tackles, 5 interceptions, 11 PBU, 1 Defensive Touchdown. On offense he had 1953 all purpose yards with with 12 Passing TD's and 303 Rushing Yards. Watch the highlights and you will come away with the same opinion. For someone so highly rated he is still underrated. For me it is the ballhawking and just an elite understanding of the game and where the QB is going with the ball to go with his elite athleticism.

I always like to get the players perspective of their game, so I asked Jaboree to describe his game and it pretty much matched up with my thoughts on his game. He stated "I have a very athletic play style which allows me to succeed in many positions and me just knowing the game from both sides of the ball help me a lot." On what position he is being recruited to play "I’m being recruited as a cornerback but I feel I can play at any position and succeed." Regarding his upcoming season "My biggest goal for next season is to win state and continue making everyone around me better." He currently holds 12 offers and he says the schools keeping up with his coaches are Michigan, Miami, LSU, and Texas A&M."

He had a take on recruiting you don't often hear and it stood out to me "Really looking to build our class here, a lot of guys that have D1 potential at Westgate in our sophomore class ,Davian Jackson, Dytraveous Lively, Amari Simon any many more." On his LSU offer He says "I’ve been watching LSU football since I was young, it was definitely an exciting moment for me when Coach Kerry offered me."On his plans on getting to LSU he said " I definitely plan on visiting LSU soon." He also says regarding family ties to LSU "My cousin transferred from Southeastern and is currently playing for LSU, Zy Alexander." His thoughts on LSU recent success keeping the best players in Louisiana home "All the dogs are born In Louisiana and that’s facts, and representing Louisiana would be amazing." On the opportunity to represent LSU and Louisiana "I’m just Thankful to be in the position to say I can possibly represent my home playing for LSU."

On what Jaboree is looking for in a school " Looking to see if I can call it a home, somewhere who will fit my play style, build relationships and develop me the most to reach the next level."
