Matt McMahon lands pair of commitments

While LSU Head Coach recently whiffed on getting Joe Girard from Syracuse in the boat, he did not completely miss out. He was able to bring home Mandeville, LA native Hunter Dean from George Washington out of the transfer portal. He followed that up by securing his first commitment in the 2024 Class from Devon Pryor out of the Houston area.

The acquisition of Dean pushed the Tigers up to the No.5 ranked transfer class in the 247 rankings. Dean is a 6'10" PF who averaged 8.7 PPG and 6.1 REB . He adds some needed depth and gives the Tigers another big body down low. He is also a reliable free throw shooter with a 74 FT%. He is not going to be a major contributor but he will be someone who can give you quality minutes in short periods.

Devon Pryor is a 3 star forward out of PSAT-XEA Academy in Houston,TX. Not all of the services have him ranked while ON3 has him at No. 204 overall and the No.44 small forward . Pryor chose the Tigers over Colorado, Texas A&M, Oklahoma State and Virginia.

This is a good first piece for the 2024 class and the Tigers are in it for some top tier talent. Will McMahon be able to land some big fish out of the HS ranks and start to right the ship?
