LSU has brought in an elite 2023 softball class and one of the jewels of the class is Sierra Daniel, the number 7 overall player in the nation. She will be in the lineup next season for the Tigers and we discussed her LSU commitment and more.

Senior Season Stats from Seton Catholic Preparatory in Chandler, AZ :
.615 Batting Average , .684 On-Base Percentage, .769 Slugging, 1.453 On-Base + Slugging
She reached base with 48 singles, 3 doubles, 3 triples and , 13 RBI and 43 Runs with 22 Stolen Bases . Having reached base on balls 14 times and only 1 strikeout on the entire year. As a fielder she recorded a .910 fielding percentage.
Sierra on what lead her to knowing LSU was the school for her being a girl from Arizona "Right when I got on campus I was in awe of it. The facilities were amazing and all of the coaches were super nice." On the schools she was heavily considering besides LSU "I was considering ASU and U of A heavily." She added "I always wanted to go out of state and experience something new and LSU had that small town feel to it that I really liked."
We discussed some her accomplishments she was most proud of and she said "I was on the first ever PGF Juniors All American Team and have been ranked in the Top 10 in Extra Innings." She talked some about her relationship with the staff at LSU "I began speaking with them on September 1st and got along with them very well. I was fortunate enough to take a couple trips on campus to get to speak with them face to face and get to know them better and I'm super excited."
I asked Sierra what she feels is the strongest part of her game and she stated "The strongest part of my game is my speed and I can apply that to both offense/defense." If you watched the above video you will definitely see her elite speed on display. Regarding where LSU sees her playing at the next level "LSU sees me playing middle infield."
She has a message for LSU fans "They are getting a determined player that wants to do everything I can to build the program and have fun doing it." She says her and the other signees have a groupchat on Snapchat where they keep up with one another and she says "We all are definitely heading into the new season hungry to help make a difference with the goals of making it far into tournaments."
regarding the 2023 class she said "I really love everyone in my 2023 class, we all went up together in November and I got to meet and hang out with all of them and I’m super excited to play with them." When she is not playing softball she said she enjoys " playing pickle ball with my family and binge watching TV shows."
