LSU football has been predominantly known as a defensive powerhouse that will run the ball down your throat and impose their will upon opponents for as long as I can remember. Boy how the tables have turned as the Tigers just fielded statistically their worst ranking defense in decades and fired the entire defensive staff today. In 2019 though a new brand of LSU offense was created with the likes of Joe Burrow, Justin Jefferson, Ja'Marr Chase and Clyde Edwards- Helaire went on a rampage and shattered records and led the tiger faithful to a masterpiece undefeated National Championship and Joe Burrow winning the first Heisman Trophy by a Tiger since Billy Cannon.
Fast forward to 2023 and the offense that was led by That Kid Jayden Daniels, Malik Nabers and Brian Thomas Junior dazzled LSU fans by producing the top rated offense in the country with a different style of offense. That season yielded yet another Heisman Trophy with Jayden Daniels walking away with the hardware this time. It is clear that LSU is becoming the brand where high school players see "The Path" to build a Legacy.
LSU is in search to complete a Recruiting Trinity when the nations Top 2025 player in Bryce Underwood, who is also the Top QB of the 2025 class commits on Saturday afternoon. Brian Kelly even though in search of the next signal caller for Tigers holds commitments from the Top 2025 Wide Receiver Dakorien Moore out of Duncanville High School in Texas and is ranked No. 4 overall per the ON3 Industry ranking. Today the Tigers received a commitment from the Top 2025 Running-back in Harlem Berry out of St Martins Episcopal in Metairie, Louisiana and is the states top player and the No. 11 overall per the ON3 industry.
The only other time in the modern recruiting era starting in 1999 that any school has signed the Top QB , RB and WR in the same class was 2021 when the Ohio State Buckeyes signed Quinn Ewers (Now with Texas), TreVeyon Henderson, and Emeka Egbuka. The Tigers would be in rarefied air to pull of this feat of the offensive recruiting trinity. Worth noting the Tigers would all be inside the Top 10 players nationally except Berry who falls at No.11 overall and includes the Top player and another Top 5 prospect while Ohio State only had one player in Ewers who was a Top 10 rated prospect overall at No.4 .
The Belleville (Michigan) QB Bryce Underwood will make his college declaration on Saturday. He is choosing between a list of finalists in LSU, Alabama, Colorado, Florida State, Michigan, Michigan State ,Oregon and Penn State.Underwood’s declaration is expected to come around 5:30 pm ET. LSU currently holds the ON3 RPM Predictions with 91.7%
