On Thursday Brian Kelly and staff received a commitment from 2024 Defensive End De'Myrion Johnson out of Westgate in New Iberia, La. Johnson is rated as a 3 star by The 247 Sports Composite and has a National Ranking of No. 447, DL No.44 and Louisiana No.11.

On what sold him on LSU being the school for him "LSU been my dream school sense I was a young kid and I first felt the love for the game of football and it just felt at home sense day one .I stayed in contact with the coaches from day one to when they first offered." On the push to keep Louisiana kids home "I feel it’s amazing how they are trying to keep all the Louisiana kids home and win it all."

Johnson has lofty goals this season "I’m more ripped and feel better. I’m trying to break our high school sack record set by our DC, former 8 year NFL veteran which is 21 sacks in 1 season." LSU is getting a severely underrated player in De'Myrion and he will eventually be an impact player for the LSU Tigers. He is able to power his way into the backfield and is violent at the point of attack.
