What is LSU Getting in Alabama Transfer Kade Woods ?

Last night Jay Johnson picked up his 3rd transfer before the season has even ended for the Tigers. As Louisiana native Kade Woods makes the decision to return home Louisiana and transfer to LSU. He attended Ouachita Christian High School in Monroe, La. where he was part of a state championship winning team in 2021. In the class of 2021 he had a Perfect Game grade of 10 which equates to a "Potential very high draft pick and/or elite college level prospect". Woods was ranked as the No. 3 overall prospect and No. 2 right-handed pitcher in Louisiana.

Woods missed the 2022 season as he was coming back from an injury that cut his high school career short. For the 2023 season he pitched in 29.1 innings and struck out 38 for an impressive K/9 of 11.75. Kade allowed 23 hits and walked 15 and finished with an ERA of 5.52. Finishing the season with a 4-1 record and 1 save in 17 appearances. He will be a Redshirt Sophomore next season for LSU.

The Tigers are getting a 6'3"-205lbs pound that coming out of high school was through a fastball up to 95mph with a slider and a change-up as well in the arsenal. Don't let the 5.52ERA fool you as that is a stat that has been on the rise. LSU is getting a pitcher that knows how to retire batters on a consistent basis as one can see by his strikeouts per 9 innings.
